Unruhe Media

As the publishing arm of the Democracy School, Unruhe Media produces books, articles, and multimedia works that engage with the polycrisis reshaping our world. We platform voices from science, art, activism, and critical thought whose practices are transformed by –and in turn transform – our understanding of contemporary structural and systemic challenges. Explore our available and forthcoming titles below.

Annotations offers artists, writers, activists and thinkers a space to reflect on the defining currents and crises of our time and to talk about how these currents and crises impact and, in some cases, motivate their practice.

Conceived as a multimedia online publication, Annotations combines a newsletter with a podcast and youtube channel and is presented by Nico Heller. For more information please consult our project page.

re:frame [en] and dis:kursiv [de] are AI-powered text generators that reframe constructed media realities. These Unruhe Media productions, conceived by Nicodemus and co-created with advanced AI systems, operate through transparent, publicly accessible editorial frameworks. They generate empirically-grounded, fact-checked columns that place fragmented crises into systemic contexts, revealing how over time structures absorb apparent change whilst maintaining patterns that accelerate societal and ecological decline.

Are we headed irreversibly towards catastrophe or do we have what it takes to fundamentally remake our world in time, sustainably, regeneratively and equitably? If so, who are the people and organisations that drive the transition to a sustainably regenerative negative carbon economy and a better life for all?
To shed some light on these questions we have created Reboot2030, a podcast and YouTube channel that engages transformational leaders in ongoing dialogues about their vision and work.
For more information about Reboot2030, please visit our project page, where a list of current and past guests is also available.

Nicodemus Archive

The Nicodemus Archive is a depository of thoughts, of projects completed and of ideas never realised. It is a work in progress, an evolving conceptual frame that allows Nicodemus (alias Nico Heller) to reflect on, develop and document his artistic practice.
The Archive is managed and maintained by Unruhe Media Archives on Nicodemus' behalf and can be found online at unruhe.eu.
